Review by Pool & Billiard Magazine's Tom Shaw:
Freddy Bentivegna has been banking balls for close to fifty years, playing on the road and at home in Chicago. A top Bank Pool and One Pocket player, he's also a great storyteller. All that experience and talent have coalesced in the book he was meant to write: "Banking With The Beard" (312- 225-5514, $29.95, 210 pgs. 9.25x7.5 in.). Freddy tells bank shot stories, with over two hundred illustrations, and all the legends of the road are mentioned. That's hugely entertaining and a nice bonus, but you buy a bank book to learn how to bank. Bentivegna shines as an instructor. With the help of excellent illustrations he takes the reader from basic bank principles all the way to Eddie Taylor-Bugs Rucker extravaganzas. You never get the feeling of being lost, no matter how difficult the shot. Some are over the skill level of even good players, but they're explained and illustrated so well that you've got a chance at conquering them. One Pocket and Bank Pool players should all have this book, but no matter what game you play you'll give yourself a solid edge by knowing the secrets of this master banker. The book is a treasure for serious players and fun for everyone.
"I'm glad Freddy waited until I quit playing to release these secrets."
"The Beard snitched off every secret but my famous 'wrist turn' shot.
All of the top Chicago bankers call Freddy The Master
Finally, a worthwhile book on Bank Pool from a Chicago banking legend. After reading this tome, you'll have no more guesswork in your Bank Pool Game. More Reviews:In PrintOnline Reviews
