World Championship Line-up DecidedFri 12th Jul 2002 02:07pm
The line-up for the 2002 World Pool Championship has now been decided. On Thursday, 8 ball player Darren Appleton of Yorkshire beat Scotsman Pat Holtz and the one rack shoot-out resulted in newcomer John Wims of Ireland heading for his shot at glory. Two players will feel justice has been served after their luck turned good. Canadian Gerry 'the Ghost' Watson and Indonesian Mohammed Junarto have made it to, and fell at, the final hurdle twice this week. But thanks to Marc Holtz of Luxembourg's cancellation due to injury, Junarto has made it through as the most successful non-winner of the week, and the Ghost walked right through the back door of the Cardiff International Arena when New Zealander Glenn Coutts pulled out at the last minute. Luxembourg will now not be represented at the championhip. |
